Checking control, inhaler technique and your action plan, with prescribing where appropriate.
This is a review clinic for an existing diagnosis. If you haven't been diagnosed with COPD or asthma before, book a general GP assessment instead.
A structured review of your symptoms and how well controlled things currently are, using standard scoring tools (such as ACT or CAT) where useful.
A talk-through of how you use your inhalers — poor technique is one of the commonest reasons control slips.
Checking your current inhalers and any other respiratory medication are still the right fit, and adjusting or prescribing where appropriate.
An updated written plan for what to do as symptoms change, including when to seek urgent help.
Support with smoking cessation where relevant, and advice on avoiding known triggers.
Referral for spirometry, further tests, or specialist respiratory input where your review suggests it's needed.
Can you diagnose me with COPD or asthma for the first time? This review is for people with an existing diagnosis. If you haven't been diagnosed before, book a general GP assessment and I'll arrange the right investigations.
Will you prescribe my inhalers? Yes, where clinically appropriate, following the review — sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.
