Diabetes & Prediabetes Education

Initial consultation (30 min) — £110 · Follow-up education session (20 min) — from £50

A GP-led lifestyle medicine education programme

For people living with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. I focus on the things that genuinely move blood sugar over time — food, movement, sleep and stress — with practical, personalised education built around your life, not a leaflet.

This is an education service, not a prescribing or disease-management service. I don't start, stop or switch diabetes medication, and I don't take over the ongoing monitoring of your diabetes — your GP or diabetes team stays in charge of your medical care.

The six pillars of lifestyle medicine

Nutrition

Practical, culturally realistic eating — carbohydrate awareness, portions and meal timing, without faddy diets.

Physical Activity

Movement that fits your day, with a focus on strength and walking after meals.

Sleep

Short or broken sleep raises blood sugar and appetite. I'll look at your routine and what's getting in the way.

Stress & Wellbeing

Stress hormones raise glucose. Simple, realistic tools to manage pressure at work and at home.

Connection

Change sticks better with people around you on board — family meals, social life and support.

Reducing Harmful Substances

Support with alcohol, smoking and vaping — all of which affect blood sugar and long-term health.

I won't ask you to overhaul everything at once — I'll find the two or three changes that make the biggest difference for you.

How it works

This is a structured education programme — an initial consultation plus a follow-up session — rather than an ongoing management service. Further sessions can be booked separately if you'd find them helpful, and the fee is always shown before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Will you prescribe diabetes medication? No. This is an education service, not a prescribing or monitoring service. Your diabetes medicines and ongoing monitoring stay with your GP or diabetes team — with your consent, I'll send them a summary of the education and goals I've covered.

Do I need blood test results before I book? It helps to have a recent HbA1c, and cholesterol and kidney results if you have them — you can usually find these in the NHS App. If you don't have a recent result, I'll talk you through how to get one.
