For adults aged 18 and over, combining lifestyle support with prescription treatment where clinically appropriate. Medication is prescribed only after a full assessment and is never guaranteed.
Comprehensive medical assessment, BMI review, history-taking and prescribing decisions — all with an experienced GP.
Support with weight loss medications, advice on managing side effects, and ongoing guidance tailored around your individual needs.
Where clinically appropriate, prescription treatment with careful dose titration, side effect management and monitoring.
Regular follow-up sessions to monitor progress, adjust treatment, address side effects and reinforce lifestyle goals.
This is for adults who want medically supervised, evidence-based weight loss support. As a guide, I look at a BMI of 30 or above, or 27.5 or above if you are of South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean family background, because health risks start at a lower BMI in these groups. Lower thresholds can apply where you have a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease. BMI is a starting point, not the whole picture. I will consider your overall health, medical history and goals before recommending anything.
My emphasis is on the medical supervision and lifestyle support that NICE guidance recommends alongside any treatment: proper monitoring, side-effect management, behavioural change, sleep, nutrition and exercise.
